Dear Ms. Brenes:

I think the innovation week was an interesting activity. During this week we learned how the students can improve their learning habits with new and smart methods of studies, technology, and communication. A good example is the use of social networks. In Innovation Week I went to two presentations: one was about Neuroscience and teaching, and the other one was Home Automation.

The Neuroscience lecture given by Silvia Castro was about the development of learning and teaching methods based on this science; There are two types of the learning: the short-term memory and the long-term memory. However, the brain has the capacity to get and process information, but the success of the learning depends on motivation, style, or skills of learn. The neuroscience says learning should be meaningful, practical, and diverse. So we can use free tools for example, the network, discussion boars, teamwork and especially we need to practice a lot. In addition, it is essential that students have healthy eating habits, time to relax, and a nice environment.

Another topic was home automation. We got the new technology to apply to our house or the office. This technology helps us saving energy and natural resources, for example, the lighting, air conditioning control, and security systems.

In my opinion the Innovation week was very interesting. I learned about new and different topics about technology that can help us in our studies and daily activities.
